 | I started my internship the last week in February. Under the direction of Bob Brackman, the Garden Director, and Sasha Kodet, the Education Director, I have been setting up the information to make a new poster detailing future classes for the Spring and Summer. I go to internship three times a week for 4 hours each day. The last day of the week, I work under Candace Andrews, Marketing Director, and Marisa Ayala, Events Coordinator. Sometimes I have my own office, other times I have a cubicle. Duties include; updating events calendar, find merchandise suitable for display at the Garden, edit copy prints, distribute event fliers, promote events with ACS, ADL, and The Humane Society, write Twitter feed for Society Twitter, take pictures of the Garden for updates on Facebook, gather scientific information regarding plants, trees, and Garden materials, solicit companies to participate in Garden events. My Twitter feeds have already been used and are still being used. The pictures I take and the captions I make have been uploaded onto the Garden website. I feel as though I'm learning how to effectively communicate with all kinds of audience members and learning what is appropriate to write and what isn't. |
